Buy Silver & Bullion in Murfreesboro
Most people know us as the place to sell gold. We also sell silver and bullion: rounds, bars, and coins you can look at, hold, and take home the same day. No shipping, no waiting on a box, no wondering what you're going to get.
Whether you're buying your first ounce or adding to a stack you've been building for years, it works the same way it does when you sell to us: simple, honest, and straightforward.
What's in the Case
Inventory changes week to week, but here's what we typically carry:
- American Silver Eagles. The most recognized silver coin in the country. 1 oz of .999 fine silver, backed by the U.S. Mint.
- Canadian Silver Maple Leafs. 1 oz of .9999 fine silver from the Royal Canadian Mint, with built-in security features.
- Silver rounds. 1 oz rounds from private mints. Same silver content as a coin, usually at a lower premium.
- Silver bars. 1 oz, 10 oz, and 100 oz bars from recognized refiners. Bigger bars generally mean a lower cost per ounce.
- 90% "junk" silver. Pre-1965 U.S. dimes, quarters, and half dollars. Popular with folks who want small, recognizable pieces.
- Gold bullion and coins, as available.
Inventory moves, so give us a call at (615) 624-7422 before you drive over. We'll tell you what's in the case and set aside anything you want.
How We Price Silver
Silver trades on a live market price called spot. Every piece of bullion sells for spot plus a premium. The premium covers minting, refining, and handling, and it varies by product. A government-minted coin like a Silver Eagle carries a higher premium than a generic round or a large bar.
We price off the live spot price at the moment you buy, and we'll show you the number. If you ask what the premium is on any piece, we'll tell you. No pressure, no games, and no "today only" pricing.
No Sales Tax on Bullion in Tennessee
Since May 27, 2022, Tennessee has exempted qualifying gold, silver, platinum, and palladium coins and bullion from state and local sales tax (Tennessee Department of Revenue, SUT-121). With Rutherford County's combined rate near 10%, that's real money left in your pocket on every purchase. A lot of people still don't know about it.
Why Buy Local Instead of Online
Online dealers have their place, but buying across the counter has some advantages that are hard to beat:
- You see it before you pay. Check the condition, the weight, and the mint marks yourself.
- No shipping costs or delays. You won't pay shipping and insurance, and you won't wait a week while your silver sits in a delivery truck.
- No package on your porch. Some people would rather nobody know they're buying precious metals. A box from a bullion dealer isn't exactly subtle.
- Real people to ask. If you have a question, you're talking to someone who handles metal every day, not a chat bot.
- The same counter when it's time to sell. When you're ready to sell, bring it back. We buy bullion too, and you already know where we are.
How Buying Works
- Call ahead or walk in. Call (615) 624-7422 to check what's in stock, and we'll set aside what you want. Walk-ins are welcome during business hours: Mon - Sat: 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM (Sun: Closed).
- Pick your pieces. Look over what's in the case. We'll quote you a price based on live spot and walk you through the difference between options if you want it.
- Pay and take it home. We accept cash, debit, credit, and check. You walk out with your silver in hand.
New to Silver? Start Here
If you've never bought silver before, here are the basics:
- Coins vs. rounds. Coins like Silver Eagles are government-minted and widely recognized. Rounds hold the same amount of silver but come from private mints, so they usually cost less per ounce.
- Bars. Bars are the most efficient way to buy a lot of silver at once. A 10 oz bar typically carries a lower premium per ounce than ten 1 oz coins.
- Storage. Silver is bulky compared to gold. Keep it somewhere dry, and think about how you'll store it before you buy a large amount.
- Buy what you'll recognize later. Well-known coins and bars from established mints are the easiest to sell down the road.
Ask us anything about the coins and bars themselves, and we'll help you find the right pieces.
Selling Gold? Put It Into Silver
A lot of our customers come in to sell old jewelry or scrap gold and leave with silver. We'll test and weigh your gold in front of you, make you an offer, and if you want, apply it straight to bullion before you leave. One trip, no runaround.
